Experienced engineer seeks impact in energy systems. I've built broad technical skills by eagerly solving problems as I encounter them. I'm excited to apply those skills toward electrification and effective grid utilization.

Experience

Senior Embedded Systems Engineer
Teleo
2025
Scaled the interface between hardware and software within Teleo's catalog of heavy equipment. Dramatically improved development speed across firmware and hardware teams by automating processes, creating reproducible environments, and establishing effective integration test practices.
  • Keya: Supported brand-new steering actuator with custom torque-based speed controller and state machine.

  • SWTECU airblaster: Deployed camera cleaning system to production by coordinating firmware and software around a CAN protocol for control on ESP32 platform with FreeRTOS.

  • Bullworm: Unlocked unstructured data logging from embedded systems by designing and implementing a robust serial-over-CAN protocol with delivery guarantees.

  • KiCad dev tools: Automated a painful hardware release process which previously cost weeks in delays due to simple errors.

  • Bowser: Developed timeseries data browser for fleet CAN data allowing for easier diagnosis of issues and validation of system performance using GraphQL and InfluxDB.

  • Power Conditioning Module: Unlocked 3x compute and additional sensing capabilities by managing hardware and firmware development for next-generation high power supply.

Founder / CTO
Katamari
2023–2025
Called back by Y Combinator for Violet Fang interface definition language designed to securely connect AI assistants with hardware devices. Studied distributed systems, authn/authz, and successful network effect products with aspirations for a distributed OS. Abandoned to avoid excessive in-house syndrome and work on problems with paying customers.
Embedded Systems Engineer
Embark Trucks Inc.
2021–2023
Responsible for developing critical systems in an autonomous driving stack. Delivered reliable and extensible products which enabled the team to confidently move forward.
  • Power Monitor: Automotive rated ADC with CAN interface for early detection of degradation in onboard high-power electrical systems.

  • EmBoard Watchdog: Implemented safety-critical PMIC + watchdog driver under Yocto Linux using BitBake, U-boot, and SysFS.

Embedded Systems + Hardware Consultant
Self Employed.
2020–2025
  • Reach Power Inc. MAKER: Designed and tested medium-voltage control system for MAKER novel phased array. Collaborated with principle investigator to specify requirements, perform architectural trades, and deliver firmware with python CLI for test automation. Zero-copy ethernet data pipeline on STM32 H7 enabled fast tracking on large arrays.

  • CustomLitt Pixl Pro + Litt Lab: Led hardware, firmware, and app development of an audio-reactive LED display for DJs. Handled technical communication with additional contractors for maintenance.

Product Development Engineer
SparkFun
2018–2020
  • Apollo3 Arduino: Led software and hardware development for Artemis products including the official Arduino core and dev kit.

  • Product Development: Worked with purchasing, manufacturing, and marketing to make embedded hardware accessible to individuals and educators. Brought new sensors, displays, and gadgets to life as products with electrical design, firmware support, product descriptions, and customer support.
